Our Performances

The Daventry Choral Society performs three main concerts each year in the Daventry area, often at the historic Holy Cross Church known for its excellent acoustics and atmosphere.

Make sure you join us for our annual Christmas concert, a favourite event among the local community.

Beyond our performances, the Daventry Choral Society is a place of friendship and community. We meet every Tuesday evening for rehearsals and organise exciting singing tours, like our recent visits to Chichester and Tuscany, Italy.

Come and be a part of our vibrant community where music brings us together!

LAURA BAILIE

Our Musical Director

Originally from Northern Ireland, Laura completed her Master’s in Choral Conducting at the University of Birmingham, under the guidance of Simon Halsey CBE. Before her postgraduate studies, she earned a BA Honours in Classical Voice from Leeds Conservatoire, focusing primarily on opera while also majoring in conducting.

Laura’s choral journey began in her early years as a chorister, which ignited her passion for choral music and led her to pursue solo performances. She has performed in various oratorios, operas, and solo recitals. In 2017, Laura received the Margaret Markland Award from the Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir and a Choral Scholarship from the Diocese of Leeds, in addition to becoming a resident singer for the Leeds Youth Wind Orchestra.

About Daventry Choral Society

Trustees & Committee

Daventry Choral Society is run by a group volunteers, all experts in their own fields. Research has shown singing provides excellent health benefits, including improved breathing and circulation, along with benefits to the heart and immune system.

At DCS we are fortunate enough to have a tremendously gifted accompanist in Adrian Moore. Adrian and the Musical Director Laura have a excellent rapport, which naturally enhances what we’re trying to achieve.
